چکیده
Abstract Entomopathogenic agents are viable and effective options due to their selective action against insects but benign effects on humans the environment. The most promising entomopathogens include subspecies of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), which widely used for biological control insects, including mosquito vectors human pathogens. efficacy B. toxicity has led search new potentially toxic isolates in different regions world. Therefore, soil samples from Amazon, Cerrado Caatinga biomes state Maranhão were evaluated potential larvicidal Aedes aegypti. with high larvae, as detected by bioassays, subjected histological evaluation under a light microscope identify genes responsible toxicity. Additionally, these intestinal epithelium assessed. In A. aegypti cry cyt amplified at frequencies, cry4, cyt1, cry32, cry10 cry11 being frequent (33-55%) among those investigated. These encode specific proteins dipterans may explain severe morphological changes intestine larvae caused toxins isolates.

Cyt1A from Bacillus thuringiensis synergizes activity of Bacillus sphaericus against Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae).
Bacillus sphaericus is a mosquitocidal bacterium recently developed as a commercial larvicide that is used worldwide to control pestiferous and vector mosquitoes. Whereas B. sphaericus is highly active against larvae of Culex and Anopheles mosquitoes, it is virtually nontoxic to Aedes aegypti, an important vector species. In the present study, we evaluated the capacity of the cytolytic protein ...

We report the first comprehensive insecticide susceptibility status ofAedes aegypti (L.) larvae from Singapore. The study indicated that Ae. aegypti is susceptible to temephos, although resistance (RR50 = 1.29-4.43-fold) couldbe developing. Of high concern is the detection of moderate to high resistance to permethrin (RR50 = 29-47-fold) and etofenprox (RR50 = 14-34-fold). Biolarvicide Bacillus ...

The susceptibility status of field-collected Aedes aegypti (L.) from a dengue endemic area to Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) and temephos was determined. Since August 2007, biweekly ovitrap surveillance (OS) was conducted for 12 mo in 2 sites, A & B, in Shah Alam, Selangor. Site A was treated with a Bti formulation, VectoBac® WG at 500 g/ha, from December 2007 - June 2008 while Site B...
